Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas   Happy New Year

I have a feeling that just about every person in the United States have at least heard either "Merry Christmas" or "Happy New Year" at least a dozen times in the past few weeks. If you havent, you sure now that more "Happy New Years" are to come!

My post tonight is about what these words really mean. It seems as if they are almost said off hand, or as if no one seems to care. People usually dont realize the affect of these words.

It can go a number of different ways.

First of all, you may hear this too much. It seems almost repetitive and loses almost all of its sincerity.
Second, you may be very very busy and barely even hear these words.
Third, you may hear these words just the right amount but dont even care about their meaning.

Tonight, I write this because I really want people to know the important of these words. Although a common catch phrase marketers use to try to get customers and sell products, they really symbolize a much bigger meaning. It may even be something too big to understand if you dont take the time.

Just appreciate that people take the little time out of their day to say these kind words to you. Along with that, pass the message along and hope to enlighten someone elses day :)

Back again

Hello everyone! I am so sorry for the long gap between this post and my last one. You see, I guess Ive sort of felt empty the last few weeks and it didnt really make sense to write things on a blog few people ever see.

Anyways, Im not here to whine or complain. I just want to come back to the blog in hope of getting back on my feet again.

TOPIC OF THE BLOG: RESOLUTIONS!

I actually have no idea what I am going to say here...but lets go!

I think that new year's resolutions are the perfect excuse to get something done. Then once the task is completed, you get a feeling of accomplishment and almost a sense of closure. My hope this year? Well, I took the opportunity and made a list of things I want to get done by 2014. Its crazy to think that by this time next year, my sister will only have 6 months left until she goes into the real world!

Now if you have been reading this whole blog, I just wanted to say thank you. I also hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Thank You

For everyone:

Thank you for giving me life
Thank you for guiding my parents down the right path
Thank you for giving me someone to talk to
even when no one else could.

Thank you for giving me a mission in my life
Thank you for giving me the inspiration to keep going
Thank you for giving me a sense to lead myself and to follow others
and follow the path to the good side.

Thank you for letting me live to see another day
Thank you for providing a place that everyone is welcome to
Thank you for blessing me with all five senses
so I can see the world in all different perspectives.

Thank you for making sure things don't always go my way
Thank you for keeping me humble and reserved
Thank you for opening my mind so I can learn everything
the good and the bad.

Thank you for always loving me
Thank you for putting people in my life that I couldn't live without
Thank you for making me feel appreciated
that I truly have a purpose in this world.

Thank you for everything.
Thank you God.

Progress

Hello everyone!

So today I am writing about a topic that has come up in our history course recently and I actually find it quite simulating to the mind..

Progress.

What is progress? When people normally think of progress, they feel as if the something has moved forward, usually for the better.

In history, people think "oh the scientific revolution! it was such a great time! we created tons of new machines and made advances in science in mathematics!" however, the other side may not always be brighter.

The scientific revolution was also a horrifying time for the peasants and lower-middle class because it endangered a great deal of people with work. Now that a machine could replace them, the workers would lose their job.

So again, what is progress? I think that progress is when the human race makes advances in a field; however, this may affect the progress of another industry but it is nevertheless "progress."

And so readers, I ask the thing of you. What does it mean for humans to make progress?

Overall, this leads to the topic for my next post about perspective.

Thank you all for reading

St.Marys vs. Severn Basketball Game

What is this??!?! St.Mary's provides Severn with inadequate courts when we travel all the way to play them? and you we have go there again? this is crazy.

Score when we left was a little low though. Hopefully the Severn guys will be able to regroup for tomorrow.

Go Severn!!

Drama and Football

Hello all:) For me, this is very excited news and I cant wait to share it with everyone.

Starting this week, I can now improvise! Of course nothing extremely fancy but I could play in the B chord forever. It is so relaxing and peaceful to the ear that I am overjoyed playing it.

...and congratulations steelers. you won fair and square and as much as it kills me, you guys really picked up your game last weekend.

Also, I have started dancing again! Last night, for the first time in years, I participated in a dance class. I felt so at home! It honestly feels so good to have a place to belong too.

Overall, I'd say that it has been a great week. Think positive and look to the bright side. As I said earlier, you need to reflect on the past to move towards the future. Well, this week will be very helpful to look back on during exam week soon.

Gotta keep your head up:)

On the Mind

I do apologize for the lack of posting within the past few days. I spent just about every moment reading this book..almost done:)

anyways i have a lot to say but not enough time.

Coming in the future:
1. links to other blogs
2. review of christmas
3. christmas music
4. ravens vs. steelers the other night

and much more! and I did not just say that because I couldnt think of anything else to say.

Overall, I love blogging so far. I believe that it has helped me become a faster typer because I let my thoughts out in a natural way.

I can not believe exams are in two weeks..I must read my book and go to bed. Hope everyone had a great Monday!
