So today I am writing about a topic that has come up in our history course recently and I actually find it quite simulating to the mind..
Progress.
What is progress? When people normally think of progress, they feel as if the something has moved forward, usually for the better.
In history, people think "oh the scientific revolution! it was such a great time! we created tons of new machines and made advances in science in mathematics!" however, the other side may not always be brighter.
The scientific revolution was also a horrifying time for the peasants and lower-middle class because it endangered a great deal of people with work. Now that a machine could replace them, the workers would lose their job.
So again, what is progress? I think that progress is when the human race makes advances in a field; however, this may affect the progress of another industry but it is nevertheless "progress."
And so readers, I ask the thing of you. What does it mean for humans to make progress?
Overall, this leads to the topic for my next post about perspective.
Thank you all for reading
